The land of Country Music - no way - not me

Anyone who knows me, knows how I feel about country music!  And, you may be asking, "Why in the world would she go to Nashville?"   the home of country music.  It is everywhere you go and all you see are boots, hats and blue jeans!  After this experience, don't be surprised if you see me wearing my cowboy boots... I may be a believer now.  Actually they are kind of cute with dresses and skirts!  I just need to be about 40 lbs lighter to look like those girls we saw in Nashville!  Oh well, here I come anyway!

Now, to the real reason for our recent Nashville trip.... to see our dear friends Mike and Emilie.  Mike recently had surgery and we just felt compelled to go check up on him.  He's doing great - you just can't keep him down!  In fact, they don't look a day older than the day I met them - way back in 1977! (except for a little gray on Mikey - sorry Mikey, I had to tell them.)
And anyone who knows Mike and Emilie know how much they love their little Cokes!
Our last night in Nashville, they took us to this little hamburger joint close to downtown Nashville for a greasy hamburger/fries and cokes!  A real treat!
(See what I mean about them never aging?)

One of the highlights of our trip was when the guys went to play golf and the girls went to Cheekwood Park to see the Chihuly outdoor exhibit!  It was outstanding!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from that outing.

To be fair - I will show a bit of the golf.... boring.....
OK - that's enough golf
Next we went to the... I think it was called the Country Music Hall of Fame??
Anyway, you name 'em and they were highlighted there! To tell you the truth, I didn't know half of them but Dennis seemed to know them all - I guess that is thanks to his Dad and Mom playing that country music in the car on those long family vacations!
Yep - caught him red handed in the Hall of Fame!
From there we took a quick trip over to Studio B (all you recording artists out there have heard of that, haven't you?) Well, it was fun and I even got to play the piano that Elvis used in the wee hours of the morning to warm up his back up singers!!!
I even got a little kiss from Elvis himself!  He is alive you know!

We also took a river boat ride on the General Jackson where we heard some more "wonderful" country music with a live band and they fed us a great dinner while we cruised the river!

It was a wonderful trip and we had a great visit with friends. From there, we flew out to the East coast to visit two of our very beautiful and very talented grandchildren!  (That was a little sappy wasn't it?)   Look for pics in the next post!

till we meet again!
