Amazing vacation!
Well, here is one more link to an amazing vacation. We were going on this trip just because we wanted to go and needed to get away and then we realized we had a condo that would accommodate 4 people so we thought - we should invite someone to come. The kids were finishing up at Oklahoma Christian - Mandy with her undergrad and Drew with his masters. They were celebrating one year of marriage and then they were moving away to start their first real jobs. We definitely saw something to celebrate so we ask and after some thought - they said yes they would go with us.
Tickets were purchased and we were ready. Just one thing was about to get in the way... they decided to buy a house instead of renting. It was probably one of the smartest things they will ever do! Interest rates were way down and they just so happen to lock in their rate at the very, very bottom! Yeah! They went house hunting in the middle of finishing up school and graduation. It really got crazy but it all fell into place. It came down to the week before moving and they had the truck rented and were ready to load. Well, the call came from the other realtor and the sellers wanted more time before they had to move. ...Panic... Well, they just could not do that because they were in the process of loading - where would they go??? We got it worked out and the sellers were able to find a place to move to and all was good. Whew
They moved their things in and had a few days to put things away and off we went on vacation!
It was the land of paradise! Only thing is... we were there only 2 days and Mandy stepped on a sea urchin and it really messed up her foot. She had to make a trip to the emergency room but all was not lost! We still had a wonderful time... ate some absolutely wonderful food... saw some amazing sites and had time to relax.
They had to leave a couple days early to attend her brother's wedding and they headed home to their house and both started new jobs! It all worked out! Everyone lived happily ever after! (DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE LINK TO PARADISE!)

Escape from 2011 Blizzard
Yep - that's what I said - escape from 2011 Blizzard. On Sunday before the now past blizzard of 2011, I headed south to Austin. I was going to get away before it hit and that's just what I did. However, how was I suppose to know that the storm would dip as far south as I could drive in one long morning? I did have a couple absolutely beautiful days and we drove with the convertible top down and it was bliss - I said bliss... not blizzard and that was exactly what you were getting here at home!
At the park - it was an awesome day! Beautiful sunshine and no jackets!
This was just one of our rides in the Mini convertible
A beautiful sunset in Austin
Oh yeah - we got static hair
Little sis on big sister's bike!
Here's the big snow in Austin.
We bundled up! Grrrr we are ready to go tackle that big bad weather outside!
So proud of her 8 inch snowman!
I got to spend a couple extra days because of this wonderful snow!
Well, we were a little sad because this wonderful snowman was gone by noon!
This one's for Drew!
big trucks would swallow me up with their spray! I'm lucky I got home!

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa
Christmas eve was delightful as we all got dressed up and went to church and then back home for Christmas eve presents, dinner and pictures. After the kids were soundly asleep, the elves went to work. They were having entirely too much fun!
We got the cookies and milk ready for Santa as well as food for the reindeer - you can't imagine how hard it was to save those two cookies from getting eaten earlier!!!!
Now the elves got to work!
Here is a video summary of our Christmas in VA complete with snow!
