Missing my little grandbabies!

It is so hard when your grandbabies live out of town!  Do you think people who have their families living in the same town - no even in the same state, really appreciate it?  I'm just not sure.  I think it would come to be the norm and you really would not realize how nice it really is unless you were on the outside looking in.  Am I making any sense?  Well, I just know that when I watch these sweet families together on Sundays or out to eat in a restaurant, only someone who does not have that luxury can really get a grasp on how wonderful that is!  So, if you are one of those who have family near by... take a minute to think about just how lucky you are.  Tell them how much you love having them near you and let them know often!  Don't let it become hum drum!

Now to my update, we recently had a weekend when all appointments had cancelled and it looked like a possible snow storm (for the who knows how many times this winter) was on the horizon, so we decided last minute to jump in our little car and head south to Austin to see half of our grandchildren and get a quick fix...if you know what I mean!

Here are few pictures from that weekend

We had so much fun and it just didn't last long enough!
Sienna has a birthday coming up very soon and she will be 3 and Nola will have a birthday in June - her first!
Here are a few more pictures of Austin

In May we will finally get to see our other 2 grandchildren when we make a trip to the east coast where Dennis will have meetings the last half of our trip.  I can hardly wait - in fact, we missed both of their birthdays because Ty was 2 in January and Alannah was 4 in early March so I guess we will just have to celebrate when we get there.  See what I mean about living so far away? We miss some the the fun.  Oh well, we will make up for it soon!

Here are the latest pictures of them:

I think it's a case of monkey see, monkey do!  Sorry I don't have any pictures of Ty from his birthday.  His mommy needs to send me more pictures! hint hint

Well, that's my post for today - Happy trails to you....until we meet again!

  1. I hope that people who have their familes in the same town or even state sppreciate it. It is hard having a baby with family so far away. I wish we had family closer, maybe not same town but close!! That would be so nice. My parents and in-laws feel the same way you do about being far away from our son (soon to be both sons)!!!

  2. That was beautiful, your words, the pictures and sharing with others. God has blessed us all.

I was thinking that it should be against the law for our children to move out of state once they have a child. :) I think we can get this one passed easily.

  3. I am lucky to be in the same state as my parents, grandma and my brothers. Just spent the weekend taking care of my nieces and nephew. You all gave a very special family.
